  Don't know what the formula is but Cactus Club does it for me -better than any chain restaurant. The Creole chicken I had, and the short rib that the wife had was amazing. It was without hyperbole the best chicken dish I have had anywhere including home made. Also the artisan cocktails show how they stepped up their game. Hats off to this location's kitchen staff.

  I'll probably go back here only because I like the franchise and I'm sure they are better than my original experience.
  
  So the place is packed and people lined up to get in, so it must be good.
  
  We get a nice table. The decor is typical for a hip, modern eatery.
  
  I ordered a $35 steak. And this is Alberta, the steak and the gasoline should be cheap here so $35 must be awesome. It was one of the worst steaks I've had. Sinewy and the what was meat was tough and bland. The sides were fine. Not a word of exaggeration, I went to Ricky's diner the next morning and had steak and eggs for $13 and it was 10x the meal. Also, I mistakenly asked the waiter for a beer pairing for the steak. He said the brewery down the way made an ale that they are highlighting and it goes well. It was foul. I wish I remembered the brand so I make sure never to lift a glass of it again.
  
  Ironically, I guess a really bad beer does goes well with a really bad steak.
  
  One last thing: not that I'm complaining because I'm a man (though socially conscience), Cactus Club always has a suspicious hiring scheme in that there isn't any ugly (or even average) looking front end girls.

  I have been eating at this restaurant since it opened. The menu choices are varied, many and I have enjoyed every item I've tried. The menu is relatively constant with occasional changes like the addition of their dessert item the caramel chocolate mousse. It is fantastic! The service is excellent almost all the time and on those very rare occasions that something isn't excellent they step up to make it right.

  Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good food.
  
  Attached to West Edmonton Mall and a little pricey; those are the things that lost it a star
  .
  Food was yummy. Enjoyed a smashed Angus burger, not a common order for me. I often go chicken or pasta but I was in the mood and I would do it again even if I wasn't just craving.
  
  My favorite part was we came a little late in the evening for supper and lingered after over coffee, dessert, and, water until 1 am and we never made to feel we needed to leave. I was visiting with someone I dont see enough and this was very appreciated. High high marks to the staff who are all friendly and make you feel so welcome.

  Great staff and service! The food was good, but this is where we found they really excelled! We had a small issue, nothing that wouldn't happen at any other restaurant, but the staff showed so much care and attention! I was so impressed how the staff came by, the managers came by and everything was so important to them. It really impressed me. Anyone can serve good food (Hopefully) but it is how the customer is treated and how they feel when they leave that matter. Five stars for the staff here!
