  Atrocious service.
  My friends and I tried to celebrate a birthday here recently. We made a reservation the day before, to ensure that we could have a room to be festive in. When we arrived at the restaurant, the staff told us that they double booked the room. They did not even apologize for their mistake, or for not calling us when they realized. The server was actually quite snotty about it. She made excuses, and even tried to blame us for their inability to properly make a reservation. I will never return to any Mikado. This was one of the worst customer service experiences that I have had in this country.

  Maybe its just location but it definitely turned me away from dining at any mikado restaurant's in Edmonton. The most unfriendly staff I've ever witnessed. There was definitely tension between staff members and management.

  We are loyal mikados customers
  We like the food quality and the restaurant.
  We have been to all of the locations in the city and it was always good.
  In the last two weeks I visited the south common location twice although the the food was good and the quality is good too but their portions in this location is too small compared to the other ones that's the reason for the three starts review
  visit the west end location and you will definitely notice the deference in portions.
  Hope this review make the management on the south common revisit their portioning.

  The service is always friendly and fast. The restaurant is clean and has a modern feel to it. I had the lunch bento and O-Toro nigiri and the food was fresh and on point.
  
  In summary Mikado has always been a go to for quality Japanese in the city and continues to be so.
