  Visited this place first time today. Came in 30 mins after opening and saw a huge line up and the place was full, all tables taken - which I guess is a sign of a good product. But line up moved very slowly. Unbelievably slowly. It took me probably good half an hour to get my small order and pay for it. Staff, however, was friendly and helped with some good suggestions.
  
  Great selection of cakes, pastries, cookies, scones, croissants - whatever you want. Will take quite a while to try everything to know what's good and what's the best :)
  
  Will certainly come back for more! Just make sure to come early - cashier told me that the line up formed even before opening.

  I like many of the pastries and the lunch combos, but the macaroons taste like artificial colours. They are not good at all. The latte is great though. They seriously need to improve customer service and make sure there are food left. The store closes at 8pm but at 3pm the only thing you can order is a handful selection of macaroons and coffee. I honestly don't understand why people line up to order when there are other similar options in Edmonton - even better in tasting.

  I used to love this place when they were small and the service was friendly. Since they've expanded, I feel like I'm just another customer. Impossible to find a place to sit even during weekdays and customers can be agressive about tables! Not a very relaxing experience. If you go, I recommend takeout only. Many of their pastries are great but don't order the croissant. Since I've discovered Macarons & Goodies on 101st, Duchess is last on my list of places to go for a nice pastry and coffee.

  The duchess has a wonderful selection of high quality baked goods and a charming atmosphere. It's quite busy on Saturdays so don't be shocked if there is a line. It's totally worth the wait!

  Pi Day Experience,
  This is posted quite a bit after the experience but that was a pie I'll never forget. It was a banana cream pie. The whipped cream looked like it had real bits of vanilla bean in it and tasted amazing. There was REAL SLICES OF BANANA!! There was a mild, smooth custard type base and omg the crust... I have never had crust like that. I didn't know crust like that could EXIST. Flaky. Tasty. Heaven. Even my great grandmother didn't make crust like that. It was incredible! I'm glad this place isn't on my side of the city or I would get so fat. I can't wait to try other flavours. :)
